>> Fire-Lapping Success :: By Monte Petersen on 2002-02-01 Print This Field Performance | Share This Field PerformanceDear Marshall and company, just to a note to let you know how the fire lapping went on my .45 colt blackhawk. Not being a very handy guy, I approached this project with some trepidation. With the help of your technical guide and my few email questions the project was a success! I checked the bore after firing 75 lapping loads and all the indicators were there so I stopped. I did reslug the barrel and .002 of constriction was gone and the slug went smoothly through all parts of the barrel. I only had time to shoot 6 shots through it as it was getting dark but I could see a marked improvement in accuracy. Thank you again for your help on this project. I have learned more from you and your website than I have in 10 years of reading magazines and articles. I probably should have posted this as there might be others contemplating this project as I did. Thank-you again for your advice and help. Monte Petersen "pistolpete"
